Getting a divorce in Queensland involves you making an application to the Federal Circuit Court of Australia requesting a Divorce Order. However conditions do apply so always seek advice before proceeding with your application.
When can I get divorced?
Your marriage must have broken down, with no chance of you getting back together. You must have been separated from your partner for at least 12 months. If you were married for less than two years extra conditions apply, please contact us for information regarding these extra conditions.
You can apply for a divorce in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia as long as you or your partner are Australian citizens or residents. You are eligible to apply for a divorce application even if you were married overseas or if you do not know where your partner is, as long as you live in Australia
Can I do my own?
Yes you can, however there is a fee regardless of whether you do it yourself or through a law firm. If you want to take the hassle out of doing it yourself we offer a Fixed Fee service for submitting a Divorce Application and attending a Divorce Hearing.

How much does it cost?
Costs vary from person to person however we provide a Fixed Fee Service for submitting a Divorce Application on your behalf. We also have a fixed fee for attending a Hearing. As mentioned previously there is a fee for applying for a divorce which is charged by the Family Court of Australia which has to be paid regardless of whether you do it yourself or through a law firm.
